Engine Oil Life System Reset GMC Canyon 2005-2014
1.Turn ignition ON without starting the engine.
2.Press and release the reset stem in the driver information control until OIL LIFE is displayed.
3.Once alternating OIL LIFE and RESET appear on the driver information control display, press and hold the reset stem until you here several beep sound.
4.The beep sound confirms that the oil life system has been reset.
5.Next turn ignition to OFF/LOCK position.
Oil Life System Reset GMC Canyon 2015
1.Turn ignition ON without starting the engine.
2.Press MENU button on turn signal lever and go to VEHICLE.
3.Use the up-down toggle and scroll to REMAINING OIL LIFE XX%.
4.Now press and hold SET/CLR button on the turn signal lever of your vehicle.
5.ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO RESET comes on DIC, use up-down toggle and select YES.
6.Next press and hold SET/CLR until OIL LIFE 100% comes on the DIC.

1.Turn the ignition key to ON position without starting the vehicle.
2.Scroll down using the up-down arrow button until OIL LIFE XX% REMAINING comes on DIC screen.
3.Press right arrow button RESET comes on the DIC screen.
4.Next press CHECK button, ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU WANT TO RESET ? comes on the DIC screen.
5.Use left-right arrow button to select YES and press CHECK button to reset OIL LIFE to 100% REMAINING.

GMC Canyon 2.5L L4 Engine requires approximately 5.0 quarts (4.7 liters) of 5W-20 or 0W-20 grade oil when engine oil and oil filter changed
GMC Canyon 3.6L L6 Engine requires approximately 6.0 quarts (5.7 liters) of 5W-30 grade oil when engine oil and oil filter changed.
